FAQ:
What
skill levels or ages are taught?
All skill levels and all age groups are welcome.
What
styles of music are taught in lessons?
Mainly classical, although celtic music is included at times for lever
harps. Orchestral excerpts and chamber music are also incorporated.
When
and where do the lessons take place?
Although most lessons take place in my home, I am willing to discuss
coming to your home. Please call or email to schedule lessons.
What
materials will I need for harp lessons?
Please contact me about selecting a harp appropriate to the needs
and abilities of the student. Harps for rent as well as harps for
sale are readily available in Chicago. If desired, I can arrange to
accompany the student to choose a harp. With the harp, the student
will need a tuning key, bench, and music stand for practice at home.

Will
there be recitals and performance opportunities?
Every effort will be made to provide as many performance opportunities
as possible. A studio recital will be held annually.
What is the
cancellation/make-up policy?
Learning to play the harp is a wonderfully exciting and enriching
activity. The harp is an instrument that rewards with immediately
beautiful sounds. At the same time, the harp, like any other instrument,
requires discipline and dedication in order to progress. It is with
this spirit of dedication in mind that I ask you to recognize my only
studio requirement:
Cancellation Policy:
If the student must miss a lesson for any reason, I require 24 hours
notice when at all possible. Lessons missed because of illness or
emergency may be made up at the discretion of the instructor. Lessons
missed with no advance notice will not be made up. Lessons missed
by the instructor will be rescheduled. Missed lessons may be made
up within that month only, otherwise the student forfeits that lesson
and no credit adjustment is made to the tuition.
